Click here for details...golf ball displays the Captain of the Society of Golfers at Blackheath in 1778 is the historic figure depicted in golf's first and most famous print. The original painting and subsequent prints are the most reproduced in the world of golf. In those early days, before many of the fine points of golf rules were set, the winner of a golf club’s annual tournament was proclaimed the "Captain" and served as the arbitrator of golf rule disputes. He was the "Captain of Gentlemen Golfers".

We commissioned the highly acclaimed Virginia sculptor, Klara Sever, to create our 18" high, sculpture of William Innes. Now, William Innes is available in full dimension and is cast in "Dura-stone". This ceramic material is the base material from which sculpture reproductions sold in museum stores are cast.

The figure has an oxidized, bronze finish and comes with a solid, black walnut base. It grasps a removable metal putter. Innes is dressed in the golf garb of his day, when privileged golfers wore very special clothing, and the color of their hats was determined by their golfing skill (that's the origin of the term "handicap"). This is a large, impressive piece at an extremely low price. Like all of our work, this piece is exclusive and proprietary to The Design Shop, and we are proud to offer this distinctive sculpture at a price well below others of comparable quality and importance. This piece has been used in homes, offices, and country club displays and has also been used by the USGA at Far Hills Golf House and in their traveling exhibits. Price - $135

Base - 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 1 1/4" Total Height - 19 "

The 18" x 24" print has a 14" x 18" image. This print is a perfect compliment to any den, office, or golf related room and an excellent companion piece to any historic golf memorabilia and is priced well below prints of comparable quality. Price - $39
